Mangalore: Rain makes Scattered Appearance in Twin-districts

Mangalore, Jun 1: Some places in Dakshina Kannada district like Sullia and Puttur taluks apart from several places in Beltangady taluk got rains on the evening of Sunday May 31. Jalsoor and Subrahmanya in Sullia taluk, almost all the places in Puttur taluk and some places of Beltangady taluk received good rains coupled with thunder.  While Moodbidri got only showers, the city had cloudy atmosphere through out the day.

Many places in Udupi and Karkala taluks received rains on Sunday, including Udupi town. Ajekar, Yennehole, Andar, Hermunde, Shirlalu, Kadtala and Muniyal in Karkala taluk got good rains coupled with thunder and lightning on Sunday afternoon. Several villages including Ajekar and Hermunde in Karkala taluk suffered, as power supply was cut following the snapping of electricity cables.  By night however, power supply was restored.

On the morning of Monday Jun 1, light drizzle was experienced in some parts of the city and the environment continues to be cloudy.
