Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jun 1: Ismail, an alleged associate of underworld criminal Rashid Malbari, was remanded to 15 days judicial custody, after being produced in a local court on Saturday, May 30.

It may be recalled that the policemen had arrested Ismail from Chennai Airport last week. After he was brought to the city, the Mangalore rural policemen had taken him into custody for interrogation.  He was produced after the tenure of the three-day police custody ended. The policemen say, Ismail, who covertly supported Malbari's activities here, had fled during the police raid on a house in Chembarikka, during which Malbari was nabbed.
