Karkala: One Injured, House Damaged Due to Lightning

Karkala, Jun 2: A youth was seriously injured after having been struck by lightning on Monday June 1 afternoon. Heavy rain coupled with lightning had lashed the taluk on Monday.

The wall of a residential house owned by Anand from Kukkundoor village developed cracks due to lightning. Electric equipments suffered heavy damages. Suresh (19), Anand's son, who was inside the house then, was injured. He is undergoing treatment at the taluk government hospital.

Revenue inspector, village accountant etc., visited the village and assessed the damage.
