Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jun 6: Varadaraj Kamath (41), lone son of H R Kamath, who owns Field Star Engineering Comapny located at Highlands here, breathed his last after the motor bike in which he was traveling, was hit by a bus belonging to a private educational institution on Friday June 5.

The accident occurred when Kamath was returning home after offering puja at Mangaladevi temple in the morning on Friday. As the motor bike was passing through Nandigudde in the city, a bus being operated by a private educational institution came from behind at a great speed, overtook the motor bike and hit the motor bike while returning to theleft lane. Varadaraj Kamath, who was not wearing the helmet at the time, suffered severe head injuries. He was immediately admitted into a private hospital, but the injuries were too grave in nature for the hospital doctors to do anything to save him.

Mohammed Shariff, an employee of Field Star Engineering Company, who was riding in the pillion, too suffered injuries. He was hospitalized with injuries but is out of danger, the policemen said.

Varadaraj Kamath is survived by parents, wife, a daughter, a son and four sisters. Pandeshwar police have registered a case. The units of Field Star Company shut down their shutters as a mark of respect for the departed soul.

Dear Hari, What a shocking news. What a tragic loss. Just a few weeks ago we talked with Varadaraj and he informed us that you were in the hospital. We the entire family visited with you at the KMC Hospital immediately upon our arrival from the airport, and gave you the courage to hang on there and everything will be okay with you. Now all of a sudden this untimely tragedy has shattered the family. You all are very dear to us and we extend our deepest sympathy to Varadaraj''s wife and children, and all the members of the family. We love you all, and if we can be of any service at any time please let us know. May Varadaraj rest in peace. He was the successor of Field Star, and a great supporter of the family, but God has His own plans for all of us.
