Udupi, Jun 6: At least ten occupants of two cars were injured and one killed on the spot, in an accident that occurred on the national highway 17 near Ottinene, Byndoor in Kundapur taluk, on Saturday June 6.
The accident between the Innova car that was moving towards Byndoor from the direction of Shirur and a passenger tempo resulted in the death of a woman who was in the Innova car bearing Maharashtra state registration number. There were seven people in this car, all of whom have been admitted to a hospital in Manipal. After this accident, another car moving on the highway banged in to the rear side of the stranded Innova car, resulting in injuries of its inmates. There were four members in this car. They have also been admitted to a hospital in Manipal.
The body of the deceased woman has been shifted to the mortuary of the government hospital in Byndoor.
