Bellary, Jun 8: Disgruntled local MLA G Somashekhar Reddy, brother of ministers Karunkar and Janardhan Reddy informed here on Sunday June 7 that he has been invited for talks by chief minister B S Yeddyurappa. "I am happy that I have been invited to hold talks about the development of this legislative constituency with the chief minister on June 9. I will meet him at 9 am on Tuesday to discuss development issues of my constituency," he explained.

Reddy, who had surprised many by openly accusing the chief minister of sidelining him, several other legislators and their constituencies a few days back, sprang a surprise by claiming that he does not have any differences with the chief minister. "It is true that I had accused Yeddyurappa of neglecting the party MLAs. Later, Yeddyurappa contacted me and discussed about the development of my constituency. He has asked me to have one-to-one dialogue with him on the issue," Reddy said.  He also informed that he has received official invitation to take part in the 'Vikasa Sakalp Samavesh' being held on June 16 at Davangere to celebrate the government's first anniversary in office and therefore, he would be taking part in it. He had earlier fumed at not being invited for the anniversary function held in Bangalore.

To a question, Reddy said he does not nurse any ambition of becoming a minister and that integrated development of his constituency is his only ambition. He also clarified, that his remarks about the chief minister were his personal opinions and the media by projecting as if his brothers were behind these statements, has hurt him.

"Out of Rs 100 crore announced for the City Corporation in the budget, Rs 17 crore has been released. Various development works are in progress. An additional Rs 26 crore would be released soon," he said.
