Beltangady: LPG Tanker overturns: Highway Traffic Stranded

Beltangady, Jun 11: A bullet tanker carrying LPG from Mangalore to Bangalore overturned at a steep bend at Shiradi Addahole Kodiyakal on national highway 48 between Mangalore and Bangalore at around 8 am on Wednesday June 10.

As the gas started leaking from the fallen tanker, the traffic on the road was blocked for the entire day. The policemen later diverted the traffic through Kadaba, Sampaje ghat etc. All the vehicles taking this route were stopped at Marnahalli and Udane on either side of the accident site and instructed to take alternative routes, as a result of which people travelling on the road suffered a lot.

Traffic on the road had not resumed till the evening on Wednesday. Relief operations are on.
