Jewellry Worth Rs 2.5 Lakh Recovered, 3 held in Udupi


Udupi, Jun 12 (DHNS): Udupi police have arrested three persons and recovered stolen goods including gold jewellry worth Rs 2.5 lakh from them. 

The arrested are Abhiman (28) and Ramu (20), both residents of Udaygiri in Hassan and Nagesh (26), a resident of Alur in Hassan.

The trio were taken into custody as they were moving in a suspicious manner at Beedinagudde. However, a thorough investigation revealed that the all of them were notorious criminals of Hassan. They have confessed that they stole gold from the residence of Ramananda Nayak and Syed Badruddin at Puttur in Udupi and sold the same in Hassan. Interestingly, the police have recovered gold from Hassan.

Thief held

Konaje police arrested one Basheer and recovered stolen jewellery worth Rs 4 lakh from him. The thief, Basheer (36), had stolen jewellry from Kananthur temple in Balepuni, Mariamma temple in Thokkuttu, Vishnumurthy temple, Vittal.
