Mangalore: Most areas Remain Dry - Intermittent Rains in some places

Mangalore, Jun 12: Unusually for the rainy season that started a week back, Thursday June 11 proved to be dry in most places of the twin-districts, with only a handful of places getting some rains during the day. Some places located in the southern hinterland got rains and northern hinterland remained dry.

In the twin-districts, Subrahmanya in Sullia taluk got the highest rain of four cms. The city itself went without any rain. In the coastal belt, Karwar and nearby places got two cms of rain. Bangalore strangely, got nine cms of rain, heaviest in the state.

The meteorological department has indicated that the coast and some places in the southern hinterland will get rains during the next 24 hours. A few places in northern hinterland too might get rains, it said.
