Mangalore: Unidentified Vehicle Kills Jeweller near Haleangady

Mangalore, Jun 13: A goldsmith, who has a jewellery shop in Haleangady in the taluk, lost his life on Friday June 12 night, after an unidentified vehicle rammed into his two-wheeler, before speeding away.

Satish Achar (42), son of T Padmanabh Achar, a resident of Padupanambur Paduthota, was coming back home from his shop as usual, at around 11 pm on Friday June 13, after finishing his work. A vehicle hit his scooter from behind, due to the impact of which, he was thrown to the road and suffered severe head injuries. The vehicle in question however, did not stop. He died while being taken to a hospital.

Based on a complaint filed by his brother Jagadish Achar, working as a lecturer in Mulky PU College, the Mulky policemen have registered a case. Achar is survived by wife and two children.
