Puttur: College Student loses Life in Collision of Buses

Puttur, Jun 15: Two KSRTC buses moving in opposite directions, brushed against each other in front of Kemmar School in Kadaba Road in the taluk on Sunday June 14, as a result of which passenger Puneet (17), a college student, breathed his last. While one of the buses was moving to Mangalore from Subrahmanya, the other was going to Kadaba from Uppinangady.

While crossing each other, the front portion of one of  the buses hit the rear portion of the other. Puneet, who was sitting on the rear seat at the time, suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot. He was a PU student of Moodbidri Jain Junior College. He was the son of Sangondappa from Bijapur, residing at Lingappaiah Kadu near Mulky. Puneet was returning home after paying obeisance to Lord Subrahmanya.

A case has been registered in Uppinangady police station. Puttrur rural circle inspector Manjaiah is investigating.
