Udupi: Monsoon Fury - Snapped Live Wire Claims Farmer's Life

Udupi Jun 15: A farmer was electrocuted on the spot after he came into contact with live wire at Ankudru at Moodubelle in Shirva in the evening on Saturday June 13.   

The deceased has been identified as Shivaram Nayak (52), a bachelor. The electric wire snapped as the coconut frond fell on the wire owing to strong winds.

Mescom officials Siddesh and Sameer along with N C Ganesh of Shirva police station visited the spot. A case has been registered. Local zilla panchayat member Gerald Fernandes has demanded the Mescom officials to provide compensation to the family of the deceased.
