KMC Mangalore Inducts Students’ Councils for 2009-10

Mangalore, Jun 13: “Respect your responsibilities and make sure you do better than what the last year’s student body did” said Dean Dr G Rajagopal as he inducted new members of the students’ councils at Kasturba Medical College here on Saturday June 13.

Manipal University Vice-Chancellor Dr Raj P Warrier encouraged the student body to work as a team and have greater interactions with students to understand their concerns. “As student representatives you are an important link between students and administration," he said. Dr Warrier added that by September the new KMC Indoor sports complex at Kaprigudda would be ready.

Office-bearers of the KMC Students Council for 2009-10 include Safal Shetty (President), Ranjani Rammohan (Lady Representative), Shankar KG, Reena Zacharia, Varun D, Guntas Singh Gill, Tattwamasi Bharadwaj, Vaishali Mada, Aishwarya Ullal and Sonalini Thakur.

The Post Graduate doctors’ council members are: Dhananjay(President), Natyasha Rent (Lady Rep.), Amar Rao and Fazil. The Interns council includes Sanath (President), Thejaswini (Lady Rep.), Nachketa and Manjunath.

Deputy Director of KMC Alumni Centre Dr Anand Venugopal is the Staff Advisor for Sports Activities. Dr Suresh Shetty is the Staff advisor for fine arts and cultural activities.

The investiture ceremony was also attended by Associate deans Dr M V Prabhu and Dr Urmila K, deputy director Student Affairs Dr Mahesh Hegde and senior college officials. Outgoing student council president Akhilesh spoke on the occasion.
