Bantwal: DC Directs Officials to Complete Four Lane Works within a Month

Deputy Commissioner (DC) V Ponnuraj directed the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials, here on Wednesday June 17, to complete the ongoing highway widening work that has been under way since the past three years and also to complete the fly over works, at B C Road here, within a month.
 
The DC had acted on the complaint of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, made to the chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, over the prevalent traffic chaos and confusion on Mangalore – Bangalore NH 48 at B C Road, here, when B S Yeddyurappa was in the city to attend Vikas Sankalp Utsav, recently.
 
In view of this complaint, the DC inspected the ongoing four lane conversion work on the stretch of NH from Farangipet to B C Road, here on Wednesday. He also advised the heavy traffic on NH 48 to be diverted via Melkar – Konaje road, besides discussing the issue of plying the local KSRTC and private buses on Modankap – B C Road route.  He also advised KSRTC inter-city express buses to stop at Kaikamba by covering taluk office road. 
 
Tahsildar Basavarajappa, Goswamy, IRCON officer Suresh Kumar, special land acquisition officer Krishnamurti, ASP Chandra Gupta, circle inspector K Nanjunde Gowda, taluk panchayat president M Babu, municipal councilor B Yashoda, deputy councilor Mohammed Iqbal, chief executive officer Shivalinga Kondadaguli and MESCOM officials were present at the occasion.
