Udupi: Three Members of Family Assaulted in Hejmady

Udupi, Jun 19: An incident of assault to three members of a family by some unidentified miscreants has been reported from Hejmady, Padubidri near here on Thursday June 18 early morning.

The assaulted have been identified as Aslar Ali (16), his mother Ameenamma (30) and grandmother Khateejamma (60). The three unidentified miscreants who barged into their house near ice plant at N S road here at 3.30 am after setting fire to the backdoor and breaking it open. However, there was a minor skirmish between the miscreants and the three members of the family as the latter woke up hearing the noise.

Family complained that they were unable to neither scream nor identify the men who assaulted them as piece of clothes were pressed into their mouth and were also prevented from switching on the light. The locals with the help of the police admitted the trio into a hospital for treatment. It has come to light that before barging into the house, the miscreants had latched the main door of the neighbouring house.

Padubidri police have registered a case. Sources in police said that personal rivalry has led into the incident for miscreants have not taken away any assets from the house. A similar incident in a house in the vicinity was reported a week ago.

    This looks like more of personal rivalry. Please dont give a communual color as it has become a practice to paint each and every incident as communual. Police should come out with the truth and punish the culprits.
