Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Jun 20: The people of the twin-districts have been actively following up the issue of starting a day-train from Mangalore to Bangalore via Arasikere. Already delegations have met railway officials, MPs etc., besides sending representations.

Officials of Puttur Citizens Forum have decided to file a writ petition in the state High Court, relating to the said issue. As per the earlier directive of the High Court to take up the issue with all the concerned including the Railway Minister, memorandums have already been sent to the railway officials, minister and peoples' representatives. If the train is not started soon, a writ petition will be filed as a follow-up action, informed Forum convener and advocate M Ram Mohan Rao informed on Friday June 19.
