Karnataka Assembly By-elections for 5 Constituencies in September

The by-elections for five legislative assembly (LA) constituencies in the state will be held in September and the timetable for the elections is expected to be out by August 15.

The by-elections for five LA constituencies, Ramanagar, Kollegala, Chittapura, Chennapatna and Govindaraja Nagar are yet to be held. With holding of by-elections in these five constituencies, the total of by-elections held during the present legislative period will add up to 14.

In the lok sabha elections held in April for these five constituencies, while H D Kumaraswamy, R Dhruv Narayan, union minister Mallikharjun Kharge and new BJP entrant from Cong V Somanna, now housing and muzrai minister won from Ramanagar, Kollegala, Chittapura and Govindaraja Nagar, respectively, actor C P Yogeshwar from BJP lost from Chennapatna.
