Mangalore, Jun 23 (DHNS): Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will enter into MoU with Bahrain, Oman, Dubai and Juboti to help them set up Institute of Chartered Accountants, said ICAI President Uttam Prakash Agarwal.  
 
 Addressing a press meet here on Monday, he said “we will provide all technical help to these countries to set up Institute of Chartered Accountants. ICAI is also planning to set up its chapters in Ireland and New Zealand. The ICAI already has 118 branches in India and 22 chapters outside the country.”

He said ICAI is building a centre for excellence in Bangalore which will have all the facilities including hostel, training room, conference hall. The centre is coming up in 10 acres land. ICAI has 130 own computer training centres to train the students who are pursuing CA from ICAI. ICAI has 200 examination centres across the country and four centres in abroad at Nepal, Oman, Bahrain and Dubai.

The ICAI has also introduced course in Accounting Technician. Around 3,000 students have already enrolled to the course.

As a capacity building measures for the newly appointed Chartered Accountants, ICAI will provide space in its buildings to start their office premises.

The ICAI has also introduced web casting system wherein we will invite well-known personalities to share their knowledge, he added.

Agarwal said “court will take action against PriceWater Cooper in Satyam Computers fiasco. ICAI  can not punish anyone, but can recommend for cancelling the license. If  PriceWater Cooper is found guilty we will cancel their license,” he added.

ICAI Bhavan, the renovated premises of Mangalore branch of the Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India was inaugurated here in Mangalore on Monday.
