Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SB)

Mangalore, Jun 24: Following the High Court (HC) order quashing the revised bus fares issued by the district administration and Regional Transport Authority (RTA), the RTA is contemplating appealing to the higher authority.

Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Afzal Ahmad Khan said that further action will be taken once the order is received from the HC. The HC order comes following a writ filed by the bus owners’ association in the HC questioning the revised bus fares.

It may be recalled that the revised bus fares should have come into effect from Monday June 22 and that the officials of RTA had booked cases against 15 defaulters for non-conformation of the orders of the district administration to reduce the bus fare.
