Mangalore: Direct Flight Service to Haj Urged

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SB)

Mangalore, Jun 24: Ullal Sayyed Madani Dargah chairman Haji U K Monu has urged the centre and state governments to introduce a direct flight from the city to undertake Haj pilgrimage.

In a press release Monu stated that at present the pilgrims from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Kasargod districts depend on flight services from distant Bangalore, Mumbai and Calicut. The pilgrims from the region are finding this arrangement quite inconvenient. Hence, a direct flight to Haj is an imminent need, Monu urged.

He also urged that all the trains passing through Ullal should stop at the station. Further, he drew the attention of the Road Transport Authority (RTA) to work towards providing bus facility up to the dargah. The permit in this regard was obtained a long time ago, he added.
