Kundapur: Pilgrim from Kumta Drowns at Kollur

Kundapur, Jun 26: A pilgrim from Kumta in Uttara Kannada district on a visit to Kollur Goddess Mookambika temple, was swept away when he had gone to River Sauparnika to take bath. His death came to light on Thursday morning, after his body was found floating on one side of the river.

The deceased has been identified as Chandrashekhar Nayak from Hosa Heravatta village near Kumta. He had come to Kollur along with his mother Susheela on Tuesday June 23. He had gone missing after asking his mother to wait at the outer precincts of the temple.

It was presumed that he had gone to take bath, after his mortal remains were recovered on Thursday. Susheela was searching for her son since he went missing and the search of the locals and the Kollur policemen in the river had not yielded any results on Tuesday.
