Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jun 27: Due to the uncontrolled water seepage into the medicines godown of the Wenlock Hospital here since the last several days, medicines worth lacs of rupees have reportedly been either damaged or rendered useless.

Considering the seriousness of the situation, MLA N Yogish Bhat, City Corporation mayor Shankar Bhat, Corporation commissioner P G Ramesh and other City Corporation officials inspected the spot and assessed the damage. The hospital sources had earlier attributed the loss to the apathy of the City Corporation in heeding to their repeated requests to do the needful to stop the seepage.

The City Corporation officials were instructed to immediately stop the blockage of the underground drainage outside the hospital to check water seepage. The hospital officials were asked to get the repairs conducted out of the hospital resources to plug the seepage.
