Mangalore: Taluk Chutuku Sahitya Parishat Office-Bearers Installed

Mangalore, Jun 29: The installation ceremony of the office-bearers of the taluk Chutuku Sahitya Parishat for the year 2009-10 was held at Canara College Seminar Hall on Saturday June 27.
 
District president Ira Nemu Poojary presided. In his presidential address, Poojary said that as far as medium of limerick in Kannada literature is concerned, it has been an effective tool to spread social awareness. The effectiveness stems from right combination of reality and poetry, thus the message embedding forever in the minds of the people.
 


Kannada Sahitya Parishat district president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura inaugurated the programme and theatre person, Kannada lecturer Dr R Narasimhamurthy was the chief guest.
 
The office-bearers installed were Mahesh  R Nayak as president, Raghu Idkidu and Sujaya K Shetty as vice-presidents, Isaac D’Souza (Yashavanth D S) as secretary, Gunavathi Kinya as joint secretary and M S Venkatesh as treasurer. The office-bearers were honoured by the the guests.

Varsha rutu vaibhava, a poetry session was organized as part of the ceremony and presided by poet Dr Suresh Negalaguli. Poet Raghu Idkidu conducted the poetry session and Nayak proposed the vote of thanks.
