Bangalore: Joseph Chacko Remanded in Judicial Custody


BANGALORE, Jun 30 (The Hindu): Joseph Chacko, accused of cheating many non-resident Indians of sites they had paid for, has been remanded in judicial custody till July 13.

The Central Crime Branch sleuths arrested Chacko in Kolkata on June 17.

He was produced before the 11th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate after the police custody expired.

Chacko’s advocate A.K. Subbaiah filed application for release Chacko on bail.

The 11th ACMM, who is holding the charge as the jurisdictional 10th ACMM has gone on leave, posted the matter for hearing on July 13.

As many as 40 cases of cheating have been registered against Chacko.
