Mangalore: Suspected Swine Flu Case Reported from Kanhangad

Mangalore, Jul 1: Swine flue symptoms have been found among five persons including a woman from Kasargod district, who recently returned from Saudi Arabia.

The symptom was found in a woman from Kanhangad, who came from Saudi Arabia recently. She has been admitted into the Beach Hospital in Kozhikode. Four more including an employee of Kochi airport, are suspected to be suffering from this disease. The blood samples and throat swabs of these people have been sent to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Delhi for conducting tests.

Sandeep (26), a resident of Kodamangalam working at Kochi airport, Mary (68) from Kottayam, who came from Canada, Sheela (51) who arrived  in a Kuwait Airways flight from USA and her son Jobin (16) are suspected to have been infected with this endemic.

The condition of the three suspected patients is stable. Checking and medical arrangements have been made all the airports in Kerala. There is no need to be anxious about the possible spread of the disease, the health department officials said.
