Hubli: Spurned Advances - Lover Tries to Kill Girl

Hubli, Jul 1: A youth tried to kill a girl who had been consistently refusing to marry him, at Vijayanagar area of the town on Tuesday June 30. The girl suffered grave injuries, but survived.

Raghavendra Ghatge (28) of Noolvi village of the taluk and Madhavi Kulkarni (26) were classmates till the 10th standard. After that, Ghatge who failed in SSLC examination started a computer repair shop while Madhavi completed M Ed.

Ghatge used to pester Madhavi to marry him and the family comprising of Madhavi, her mother and grandmother, disturbed by his persuasion and insistence, had shifted their residence to Vijayanagar recently.

Ghatge allegedly came to Madhavi's house on Tuesday and Madhavi locked herself in a room to avoid him. He waited till she opened the door and attacked her with a sickle. Madhavi, who sustained injuries to her head and neck, collapsed in a pool of blood. She was immediately taken to Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital, where her condition is reported to be stable.

Ghatge has been arrested.

    If he truly loved her, he would have had sympathy and compassionate for her. This is nothing but jealousy which drove him to commit this act. The lady in question should have complained to the police or filed a case and could have brought an order of injection on the culprit.

    kai ho ghatge saheb..tumhi aasa ka khelsa..changla nahin.. bar ka..madhavi won''t marry the person who has failed in S.S.L.C.now she has completed M Ed..in ''love'' by forciably you cannot achieve anything.. understanding is a must.. and moreover urgeness of sacrifice..aashique aawara..
