Beltangady, Jul 1: In an accident that occurred at Periyashanti junction at Nellyadi here on Wednesday July 1 morning, a gram panchayat (GP) member was killed on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Mohan Samagara (30), Layila GP member. Samagara riding a motor cycle was hit by Dharmasthala-bound government bus coming from Bangalore and died on the spot.
Samagara, who worked as a photographer at Shraddha Studio in Ujire was a resident of Layila. He had entered into matrimony just three months ago.
