Mangalore: Samiti bats for Environment-friendly Industrial Development

Mangalore, Jul 2: Vishwanath U Mada, president of Jaya Srikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti, informed that the Samiti would be urging the government to set up an environmental committee comprising of environmentalists to draw up a development plan for the district in the next 100  years with industrialization, but without compromising on the environmental concerns.

Addressing a press conference held here on Monday June 30, he divulged that a delegation of the Samiti will soon meet the state Chief Minister to plead with him to form a Citizens Environmentalists Committee on the above lines.  He also requested the people not to oppose industries, development projects and power generation plants which have in-built environment pollution regulation systems in place.

Samiti's governing council member Rons Bantwal, Balakrishna P Bhandary and Dharmapal U Devadiga were present at the press conference.
