Udupi: Govindaraju's Work Bags Kadengodlu Poetry Award

Udupi, Jul 2: An anthology titled 'Valmikiya Ayussu - Vyasana Manassu,' authored by K Govindaraju from Mysore, has been selected for being conferred the Kadengodlu Poetry Award, being given to unpublished anthologies. The award is being announced annually by Rashtrakavi Govind Pai Research Centre here.

K Govindaraju is a writer belonging to a backward community. He holds MA, LLM and M Phil degrees. After voluntarily retiring from State Bank of Mysore, he has been working as a lawyer. Three of his anthologies have already been published. His published autobiography, 'Manavilladavara Madhye,' has received lot of accolades from the readers and critics alike for honest, fearless writing and the restraint exercised in expressions.

Over 30 manuscripts had been received for the Kadengodlu Poetry Award. A team of selectors comprising of N M Hegde, Dr Gananath Yekkar and K S Kedlaya helped the centre to choose the work, informed director of the centre Prof H Krishna Bhat, in a press statement.
