Bantwal, Jul 3: The policemen have again stopped the ore laden trucks and LPG tankers from moving on the national highway 48 at B C Road from Thursday July 2 onwards.

It may be recalled, that pursuant to the orders of the district deputy commissioner forbidding plying of vehicles in B C Road stretch of national highway 48 from June 30 onwards, heavy vehicles had been stopped for a day from June 29 onwards. After a meeting was held and the information was conveyed that as per revised decision, heavy vehicles were allowed to ply on the road from the evening of June 30, they were allowed on the road from July 1 onwards. By the evening, traffic snarls erupted at B C Road, Tumbe, Farangipet etc for hours on end.

In view of the inconveniences to the road users, the policemen have started to divert the heavy vehicles on alternative roads from Thursday onwards. In the meanwhile, Ircon Company has been continuing with the laying of the service roads at a brisk pace.
