Bantwal: Taluk Working Journalists’ Association Organizes ‘Press Information Week’

Bantwal, Jul 4:
“Press Club Day should make journalists introspect on their chosen profession”, said Narendra Rai Derla, lecturer, Bellare Shivaram Karant Pre-university College.

Narendra Rai was speaking as the resource person at the inaugural of the taluk-level ‘Press Information Week’, which began here on Friday July 3 at S J S Y Auditorium, B C Road.  It was organized by the Taluk Working Journalists’ Association.
 


“News items should not be restricted to the city; instead the journalists’ have the responsibility to cover rural issues as well.  Timely and crisp reports avoiding jargons are the need of the hour.  Professional knowledge of various aspects of journalism and following everyday happenings closely are expected of a journalist.  It’s not advisable for a journalist to have an ego or to make a molehill of an individual’s lapses thereby tarnishing the image of that particular individual”, he advised. 
 
Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Association president Harsha inaugurated the programme on Friday.  Speaking on the occasion, Harsha said that honesty and commitment to professional ethics should be the motto of every media person.

“Success is assured if journalists work in unity shunning their inferiority complexes”, he emphasized.
 
Taluk Working Journalists’ Association president A Gopal Anchan presided over the programme.

Uday Shankar Neerpaje welcomed the gathering.  Vishnugupta Punacha delivered the introductory address.  Latif Neralekatte compered the programme.
