Mangaluru: YCS unit of St Joseph The Worker Church, Neermarga celebrates Teachers’ Day

Mangaluru, Sep 5: YCS unit of Neermarga parish solemnly celebrated Teachers’ Day with great gusto, zeal and gaiety on September 1.

Fr Anil D’Mello presided over the programme. The youth portrayed their gratitude to the teachers both working and retired by thanking God for educational ministries and for their altruistic devotion through a prayer song. Welcome dance created rhythmic thrills of sheer excellence. Rovin and Sherlin extended hospitable, loving and warm welcome to the dignitaries in their sweet flowing words of welcome. Students performed a scintillating cultural show that incorporated songs and dances. A day without laughter is a day wasted. Students ripped open the flood gates of laughter by their muddled item. Tiny tots entertained the teachers through a mesmerizing dance choreographed by Jatin. ICYM regaled the teachers by arranging fun games and action songs. They indicated that teachers play an essential role in making their pupils accountable citizens of tomorrow and wonderful human beings.



The youth felicitated Fr Anil D Mello, parish priest for he is an ideal teacher, dear guide, empathetic leader, good counsellor to the flock entrusted to his care. They lauded him for his dedicated services and invaluable guidance through draping of shawl, plant sapling and fruits. Caroline Pais, retired teacher was honoured for she illumined the dark recesses of students’minds with the light of truth, wisdom, patience, love and knowledge. Surprise felicitation for YCS animator was also held.

Paul shared his teaching experiences with us. Students wished the teachers through their mellow voices which was indeed a superb melody. Fr Anil in his presidential address thanked the teachers for their generous contribution to the society and wished them success in all their endeavours. Prakash Pereira, parish vice president and Jerald secretary, along with all ward gurkars were present for the stage programme. Fr Anil gifted each teacher with potted plant as token of gratitude.

Lester, president of YCS and Jackson, vice president rendered the vote of thanks. Ancita, Adeline, Oshin, Avin, Oscheal and Jeshma compered the programme.
