Chitradurga, Sep 5: In a heart rending incident which happened in Nandihalli village of Chitradurga district on Tuesday September 3, a woman committed suicide upon hearing about the demise of her son.
Manjunath (28), resident of Nandihalli near Bharamasagara in the district, had ended his life on Tuesday by consuming poison in the agricultural fields in the outskirts of his village. On hearing about this information, his mother, Jayalakshmamma (48) too consumed poison. The locals rushed her immediately to the government hospital at Bharamasagara. However, the doctors could not save the life of the woman, who had been unable to bear the loss her son.
