Bengaluru, Sep 5: The mortal remains of Mohammed Zain, who had recently fallen into the major storm drain (Rajakaluve) and was washed away, was found from the major drain near the global village in the city on Wednesday September 4. The boy was missing since the last three days.

Personnel of the fire brigade, national disaster response force, police, and officials of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) were searching for the five-year-old Zain. The body of the body was located in the drain at the global village in Rajarajeshwarinagar in the city on Wednesday.

The boy had left his home in Padarayanapura Guddadahalli in Goripalya along with a girl from his neighbourhood on Friday last for disposing off garbage. The boy had accidentally fallen into the major drain and was washed away. The girl, overtaken by fear, had not shared this information with anyone. The parents, who were overtaken by fear at the sudden disappearance of the boy, had searched for him for two days before filing police complaint The police, during questioning, came to know that the boy had accompanied the girl living near his house when throwing the garbage. When the girl was approached, she revealed what had happened. After three days of search operation, the boy's body was found on Wednesday.

City mayor Gangambike, announced that the family of the deceased boy would be paid a compensation amount of ten lac rupees. The mayor said that the compensation has been declared on humanitarian grounds and that the amount would be disbursed after holding discussions with the chief minister and BBMP commissioner. She also directed the chief engineer to repair the wall of the major drain that has become fragile.
