Kundapur: IPS officer Hariram Shankar takes charge as new ASP

Kundapur, Sep 5: 29-year-old, IPS officer of 2017 batch Hariram Shankar has taken charge as the new Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Kundapur sub-division on Thursday, Sep 5. Outgoing DySP B P Dinesh Kumar handed over the charge to Hariram Shankar in the office of the DySP in the town.

Hariram Shankar, who is a native of Thrissur in the state of Kerala had joined service as a probationary ASP in Athani of Belgaum district. He completed two months of second phase training in Hyderabad and has assumed charge as ASP of Kundapur. He is a Mechanical engineering graduate from NIT of Calicut and took the Civil Services examination later. The locals believe that he will be able to resolve the issues of the coastal people.

Speaking after taking charge, ASP Hariram Shankar said, "I will make a study of the area that comes under my limits. The officers of this region have done good work. That is why there is peace here. Priority will be given to put an end to criminal activities and strengthen law and order. Re-investigation will be done of murder and theft those are still not resolved. Attention will also be paid to the traffic issues and attempt will be made to resolve the same."

Kundapur CPI Manjappa, Byndoor CPI Parameshwar Gunaga, police sub-inspectors of various police stations and personnel were present on the occasion.

    I was having an opprtunity to talk to him. The officer surely is very smart & really interested to resolve many hurdles affecting the coastal town. He helped in facilitating registration of a public cause that "around 60 Meters of public road passing through the land of Sri N Duggappa Shetty near Mukambika Road Railway Station Road Station Byndoor was completely removed at their instance on 06-12-2018 and latter. Because there was ample evidence that the said owner facilitated damage to said public road, Byndoor Police had registered FIR on IPC 431 read with IPC 34 some day in Navamber 2019. This had angered Sri N Duggappa Shetty & his brothers, who now resorted and facilitated registration of atrocity related false case against me. That one Mr Vijaya Krishna of Onthibettu area of Manipal Parkala road was some how brought to Byndoor & caused regisatered a false, concocted, ficticious and framed atrocity related FIR in Byndoor PS vide FIR 223/2019 dated 16-11-2019. The said issue now to be investigated by this officer. Certainly he would investigate the said false case, & give me fair play & natural justice
