MLA Khader Opposes Extension of M’lore-B’lore Train to Kannur

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SB)

Mangalore, Jul 6: Mangalore MLA U T Khader has opposed the announcement in the Union Railway budget of extending Mangalore-Bangalore train service to Kannur.

I will take up the issue with the central government, said Khader. Reacting to the statement by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel that rail roko will be held until the decision to extend Mangalore-Bangalore train to Kannur is reverted, Khader said that such decision does not augur well for a responsible people’s representative. Instead people’s representatives can approach the minister concerned and apprise him about the injustice meted out by certain officials on the matter, he said.

Khader said that there were enough opportunities to convince the union ministry about the injustice done to the coastal region due to the decision in the budget. United fight forgetting the political affiliations is the need of the hour. “MP who has issued statements that he would visit the minister in Delhi on Monday has not formally invited me or anyone else to accompany him. I am ready to accompany him, if he invites me or else he can accompany us,” he added.

The Extention of destination decission has been taken years back by the railway official when Former MP Lalu Prasad made rule that the railways bogey''s were not to be kept idle above 6-8 hours in the particular station. However we can not change this rule by confrontation with the ministry. Our representatives in State and Central together in one mind, one heart and with one voice meet and convince Madam Benerjee. Then it is possible. If they compete with each other and go singularly it will not be much effective.bai

It''s all over. The ignorant ministers of state in center as well ignorant MPs coupled with bus-lobby has done the trick. How much ever we oppose it is difficult to stop the extension. Atleast get the day-train soon and get it extended till Kundapur so that we do not lose it to Kerala again
