Mangalore: Anganwadi Scam: Complaint Lodged against CPM leader

Mangalore, Jul 6: A complaint has been lodged at Urwa police station against Communist Part of India (Marxist) leader B M Bhat, who was one among the persons responsible for unearthing anganwadi scam whereby stock of outdated food packets were found at several anganwadis across the district last month.

District women and child welfare department deputy director Shakuntala, who has been alleged of being involved in the scam has filed the complaint against Bhat. She has further alleged in the complaint that Bhat not only has interrupted to carry on her duty diligently, but also has threatened to harm her life.

However, Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has denied the allegations by Shakuntala and termed it as false. DYFI district president said that it is an attempt by Shakuntala to mislead the investigations into anganwadi scam in the district.
