Kadaba: Hit by car - Woman pedestrian passes away

Kadaba, Sep 10: After an unidentified car hit her, a woman pedestrian lost her life at Nettana town in the taluk on Monday September 9.

The victim of this accident was Sumathi (48), wife of D Babu, who is superintendent of Subrahmanya unit of Karnataka Rubber Development Corporation. On Monday, she was walking towards Nettana town from her home at Nellikatte near Nettana by the side of state highway, when a white colour Maruti Swift car which came from the direction of Subrahmanya hit her before speeding away.

The woman, who suffered serious injuries, was immediately taken to Kadaba community hospital where first aid was extended to her. From there she was taken to Mangaluru and admitted into Wenlock Hospital. But by evening, she passed away.

Sumathi has left behind her husband and two sons. Kadaba police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
