Karwar: Devil's Agent strikes again: Ore Truck kills Three, Injures Two

Karwar, Jul 9: In an accident that occurred near Hebbula in Ankola in the district on national highway 63, three persons lost their lives while two more were grievously injured after a ore truck hit the Maruti Omni van in which the unfortunate victims were travelling on Wednesday July 8 afternoon.

The van was mauled beyond recognition. Srinath Puttaiah Hebbar (28) from Malavalli, Yellapur taluk, Vijay Nagendra Hegde (22) from Ummachagi village and Omni driver-cum-owner Narayan Subraya Bhat (33) from Malavalli died on the spot. Their bodies were strewn around on the road and blood was splattered at the spot of the accident. Driver of the ore truck fled from the scene.

Devaru Ganapati  Hegde (29) and his wife Teja (20) were seriously injured and admitted into a hospital. Reportedly, Srinath Hebbar worked as a priest in Mapuca Goa while the others, who are from the district, work in Goa. All of them had together planned to visit Yellapur, their native place, together. But fate had other plans.

A complaint has been registered in Ankola police station.

    Immediate after Kambadkone incident near Byndoor,D.K this is also huge disaster? It means every Driver should under go every three months review his Driving effeciecy,(Similar U.A.E rule shall be taken place in India)So that accidents can be reduced

    These killer iron ore trucks have to banned from the roads immediately. Our greedy politicians exist only to take bribes from the mine owners. They just do not care about ordinary citizens. I hope some politician and his family gets killed by these mine trucks.

    These ore trucks have killed enough people through rash driving and accidents and have damaged the roads too making it difficult for other road users. Please put a ban on these ore trucks and introduce trains to transport the ore which will be much safer, cheaper and less distructive to all of us. The Government is not showing any signs of stopping this menace, instead have been hand in glove with the miners wasting public money in repairing the roads for these ore trucks and making money there too with substandard work.

    Come on Mangalore, it is time to wake up before we all get mauled by these dare devil trucks.

    Coastal People of Karnataka unite and put a end to this ore buisness.If the reddy brother''s want to transport mines let them lay a pipe line or a railway line to the port directly,They have got enough money to do this. we don''t need these ore trucks, and death''s, Stop them.
