Sullia: Vehicles collide: Six injured

Sullia, Jul 10: Six persons were injured after a Tata Sumo vehicle that was moving to Madikeri from Mangalore got involved in a collision with a Mahindr Pick Up van that was returning after delivering newspapers at Madikeri, at Adkar in Jalsoor village near here. The Tata Sumo rolled deep down a 10 ft ditch by the roadside, in the incident.

Five personnel of Mangalore University were travelling by the said Tata Sumo vehicle to a college in Madikeri. Prasanna Shetty (51), driver of the Tata Sumo suffered serious injuries in the accident, while assistant executive engineer Shivashankar Prasad, junior engineers Shivaraj, Lokesh and Basavanna besides contractor Haridas sustained injuries. All of them were admitted into a hospital in Mangalore.

A case has been registered in Sullia police station in this connection.
