Moodbidri: Youth harvesting areca nut electrocuted

Moodbidri, Sep 13: A youth who was harvesting areca nuts by using an aluminium hook fixed at the end of a metal rod was electrocuted after the hook accidentally came in contact with live wire. This tragic incident happened at Beluvai near here on Thursday, September 12.

Keerti Salian (30), son of Gangadhar Salian, residing at Mitta Anebettu near Shanmukhananda Hall, Beluvai, was the one who lost his life in this incident. This unexpected incident happened at around 10 am on Thursday. He had suffered extensive electric shocks. Although he was taken to hospital immediately, he breathed his last before reaching the hospital, it is gathered.

Keerti was the only son of Gangadhar Salian. He was working abroad for about eight years and had undertaken agriculture after returning and selling down in his native place.
