Bangalore, Jul 11: V Somanna, muzrai and housing minister in the state government, was slapped with a High Court notice on Friday July 10. The minister, who was recently ushered into the state ministry, has been accused of constructing a building in government land at Kempapura Agrahara here.

The petition was filed by Narayanappa, a resident of Pattegarnapalya in the city. The petitioner has claimed that the minister has been constructing a building in survey No.380 of Kempapura Agrahara here, by making use of the MLA funds allotted to him. This building is coming up in a one-acre plot of the government and the minister does not have a sanction plan for the building, Narayanna has averred.

The petitioner said, he had filed a complaint to the special district commissioner for the city about the encroachment of the government land by Somanna, but he had failed to take any action against the accused. In view of these submissions, a division bench of the High Court headed by Chief Justice P D Dinakaran ordered issuance of the said notice.
