Bangalore: Auto Driver Dies in Police Custody

BANGALORE, Jul 12 (TNN): Even as the shockwaves of the Hanumanthnagar and Fraser Town custodial deaths a couple of months ago still linger, there was another

lock-up death in R T Nagar police station on early Saturday morning.

Manjunath, a 26-year-old auto driver from Bhuvaneshwarinagar, died under mysterious circumstances. On Friday night, Manjunath and his brother Bhuvanesh fought with Deepak, a private company employee, over Rs 10,000 lent to him. Deepak complained to the police who picked up the brother duo.

Around 3.30 am, Manjunath complained of chest pain. The police claimed he died on way to hospital around 4.30 am. But family members said the police beat him to death. Police commissioner Shankar Bidari said it would be considered a lock-up death and the CoD would probe the case. PSI Siddalingaiah and ASI Nagaraj have been suspended.

Very sad indeed. NGO, Public organisation must untie and find the truth behind the death. So called safe guarding society POLICE FORCE Must not use law in their hand to kill someone after taking bribes in lakhs for selfish reasons. Whenever there is a Lokyuktha raid on police personnel they can find crores of hidden money which is nothing but illegal acquired. Only those who indulge in criminal activities will bribe police force and it is a really a shame on humankind. POLICE FORCE Look upto heaven and see God is watching do not bring curse on your family. Pray to god to give wisdom to police personnel.
