HI SHAHNAWAZ, ROOT CAUSE FOR ACCIDENTS ON NH 17 IS NEGLIGENCE OF NHAI UNDER THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT. DID YOU TRAVELLED BANGALORE-CHENNAI, NEW DELHI-AGRA, NEWDELHI-JAIPUR OR ANY OTHER HIGHWAYS. ABOVE HIGHWAYS ARE FOURLANE WITH DIVIDER IN BETWEEN & WITH SERVICE ROAD. WHY NOT FOR MANGALORE-UDUPI-KUNDAPURA.

Very very unfortunate and sad incident. May Lord rest the soul in peace and give enough courage and patience to the bereaved family. These reports and accidents are common for quite some time now. The traffic department must start an orientation and educational programmes for all highway and road users. There must be dos and donts and public and private both print and e media should render their support for this programmes. Law should be changed and there should be a minimum jail term with penalty for the erring drivers and good blood money provisions for the victims family. With these stringent measures, I hope intensity of accidents would curtail and roads and highways would become a safe place to use.
