Mangalore: Mastermind Behind Vamanjoor Rohi’s Murder in Police Net

Mangalore, July 14: The man, who was the mastermind behind the murder of slain rowdy-sheeter Vamanjoor Rohi was arrested by superintendent of police’s special team led by sub-inspector Prakash in an operation at Tannirbavi on Monday July 13 morning.

The arrested has been identified as Bachu alias Bhaskar, the main accused in the murder case of Goverdhan from Mukka. It is learnt that Nikhil Shetty, the aide of Vishwanath Koraga Shetty had paid an advance of Rs 1 lac to murder Rohi. Nikhil had also supplied one revolver and six live bullets to Bhaskar who in turn advanced Rs 35,000 apart from supplying the revolver to Sampath Bhandary. 

Police have also stated that Shalini, Krishnappa Salian’s sister-in-law too is involved in the murder. It can be recalled here that Vamanjoor Rohi alias Vamanjoor Rohidas Shetty was murdered at Krishnappa Salian’s house in Jyotinagar, Vamanjoor here in the wee hours of Sunday July 5. 

Furher, the police have also nabbed four accused Krishnappa Salian, Sampath Bhandary from Urundadygudde, Panjimogaru, Dhanraj Poojary alias Dhanu from Kalbavi Nagar, Kottara and Santhosh Kottari from Jyotinagar, Tiruvail of Vamanjoor on Friday July 10 and were produced before the JMF court in the city on Saturday July 11. They have been awarded judicial custody up to July 24. The investigation is on and police are in search of more involved in the murder including Nikhil Shetty.
