Bangalore, Jul 15:  It was a wonderful day as three of the sisters – Sr Savitha Narikuzhiyil, Sr Catherine Panachickal & Sr Jamini Parambakathu had their final vows making commitment to God for selfless service even to the extent of risking their own lives into the order of ‘Daughters of St Camillus’ on his 395th heavenly birthday on tuesday, July 14th at Daughters of St Camillus home on Hennur Road.

St Camillus De Lellis is the patron saint of all who are sick and all those who nurse the sick. The Congregation of the Daughters of St Camillus was founded  in 1892 by a Camillian Priest Blessed Fr Louis Tezza and Blessed Mother Josephine Vannini. Our charism is to serve the sick even at the risk of their lives.

Their services include working in different states especially in the rural areas of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Karnataka and Kerala. They are looking after the mentally challenged children, HIV patients, patients affected by leprosy, home for the aged and terminally ill patients with selfless services to the people, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.

On this great occasion, the program started with procession, welcome address, solemn high mass by Archbishop Bernard Moras.  Archbishop Moras in his homily congratulated the sisters especially the ones taking their final vows & assured every ones prayer to keep them under the guidance & care of the Lord.  Choir members had their day with melodious singing. Many priests & nuns from various congregations participated in the event. Provincial Sr Grace & Superior Sr Anila had organized this programme in a wonderful & befitting manner, which concluded with vote of thanks.
