Karkala: Navratri festival scheduled in Belman temple from Sep 29

Karkala, Sep 25: Historic Belman Durgaparameshwari temple will host Navratri festival from September 29 to October 7 with all the religious rituals. Cultural programmes will be held in front of the temple everyday from 6 pm to 8.30 pm.

The inauguration of the cultural programme and devotional music by Belman Vitobha Rukmayi Bhajana Mandali will be held on September 29.

‘Andhaka Moksha’ yakshagana play will be performed by Thenkuthitta artistes on September 30.

A Yakshagana play titled ‘Sri Krishna Leele – Kamsavadhe’ will be performed by Belman Durgaparameshwari Shobhane Balaga and art lovers on October 1.

Vidwan Sripathi Upadhyaya Kumbhashi, Vidwan Ganapathi Bhat Yallapura and party will present ‘Seeta Kalyana’ musical play on October 2.

Yakshagana center, Indrali, Udupi will perform ‘Veera Abhimanyu’ Yakshagana play on October 3.

Janapada team recognized in national circles, Ram Dance Academy Udupi will present Janapada dances on October 4.

‘Muddu Krishna competitions’ will be held for children between 0-2 years and 2-5 years by Abbanadka Drugaparameshwari Friends on October 5.

Karaoke singing competitions will be held on October 6.

Variety entertainment from local talents, talent awards, felicitation to achievers, spiritual talk, prize distribution and concluding of cultural programme will be held on October 7.

Meals will be served after Navratri puja everyday at 8 pm as part of the festival.

Meals will also be served on October 8 in the afternoon as part of Vijaya Dashami said managing trustee of the temple, Vedamurthi B M Krishna Bhat and Vedamurthi B K Vignesh in a press release.
