Aloysius Lobo elected president of Beltangady Taluk Bar Association

Beltangady, Sep 26: Election to the post of the president of Beltangady Taluk Bar Association was held on September 23. Senior lawyer, Aloysius Lobo, who also happens to be the Christian marriage registrar, came out victorious with a margin of nine votes.

The election was held at the end of the previous term of the bar association. In the election for the post of the president of the bar association, Aloysius Lobo was pitted against Prasad K N. Senior advocate, Ajit, was the returning officer for the election.

The election was held at SDM Kala Bhavan here. Aloysius Lobo, who secured 38 votes, became victorious and defeated Prasad K S, who got 29 votes. Krishna Shenoy has already been chosen as the secretary of the association.

During the year gone by, the bar association had undertaken a number of noble and worthy programmes and earned appreciation of the people and members alike. Outgoing president of the association, Xavier Paleli and secretary, Manohar Kumar Ilanthila, were felicitated by the members of the association in recognition of their contributions.
