Brahmavar: Minister Eshwarappa accompanied by family visits Mandathi temple

Brahmavar, Sep 26: Karnataka minister for rural development and panchayat raj, K S Eshwarappa, accompanied by family members, visited Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple at Mandarthi in Udupi district on Wednesday September 25.

He took part in the Chandika Yaga (fire sacrifice) conducted at the temple along with wife, Jayalaxmi and daughter, Kanaka. The BJP workers and fans of Eshwarappa from Shivamogga had taken a vow to perform this Yaga to express gratitude to the goddess in return for ensuring the success of their leader.

The Chandika Yaga was performed under the guidance of temple priest, Sripati Adiga and Jayaram Puranik. Hereditary trustee of the temple, Dhananjay Shetty, executive officer, Praveen B Nayak, Eshwarappa's close ones, Sandhya, Nagaraj, Raghavendra Swaroop, Heggunje gram panchayat president, Ganesh Shetty, member, Praveen Shetty and temple hereditary trustees were present.



Speaking to media persons, Eshwarappa expressed happiness at taking part in the Chandika Yaga that had been arranged by BJP workers from Shivamogga on account of their affection toward him for the well-being of the party and the nation.

Office at Belagavi:

Eshwarappa said that he has sought permission to open the office of rural development ministry in the Mini Vidhana Soudha at Belagavi for the convenience of the people of north Karnataka. He said that the centre is expected to release sufficient grant to the state to tackle flood-related problems. About the political scenario in the state, he said that BJP could form the government because of the disqualified MLAs and said that when choosing candidates for the bypoll, everyone would be taken into confidence and given enough weightage. He said that as per the Supreme Court order, winning candidates would be chosen after consulting the disqualified legislators. He said that he is confident that the BJP will win 15 seats in the assembly bypoll.

He assured that his department will release enough grants to coastal belt of the state. He also promised to release special grants for the development of roads near Mandarthi temple.

The minister, who offered special puja to the Goddess, partook the afternoon Prasadam at the temple.
