Mangalore: Wall Collapses Killing Two Children, Injuring One

Mangalore, Jul 21:
Two children were killed and one injured after a compound wall collapsed near Puttolike near Naringana in Konaje police station limits.
 
The deceased child are Ayisthanisha (5), daughter of Mohammad, and Hasbina Banu (6), while Mohammad Tayif (7) has been admitted to a private hospital near Deralakatte.
Hasbina and Tayif are the children of Mohammad Haneef.

The tragedy occurred at ‘Ramlath Manzil’, the house owned by Mohammad Haneef. The children were playing in front of the house and then went to sit on the compound wall near the gate which is when the wall collapsed, said a neighbour who was at the hospital.
 
He said that one of the children died on the way to the hospital and the injured boy is out of danger according to the attending doctor.
 
It is said that the compound wall weakened due to the heavy rains over the past several days.
 
Ayisthanisha was an LKG student of Al-Madeena English Medium School in Manjanady while Hasbina Banu and Mohammad Tayif study in the government primary school in Montepadav, in grade first and second, respectively.
 
Konaje police registered a case in this regard.
